Specialist physician and Rheumatologist
Prof Vanessa Burch is a specialist physician and rheumatologist with more than 30 years of experience in professional practice. She also holds a PhD in health professions education from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, and has spent much of her career exploring how education can strengthen clinical practice and improve patient care. Vanessa has held senior academic and leadership positions in South Africa, including Professor and Chair of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cape Town. At the heart of Vanessa’s work is a simple belief: education should make a meaningful difference to how people think, work and care for others.
