Course Overview
Burnout is not simply exhaustion; it is a nervous system state. This webinar explores burnout through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, autonomic nervous system physiology, HRV science and psychoneuroimmunology.
Participants learn why rest alone often fails to restore energy, how chronic stress progresses from sympathetic activation into dorsal vagal shutdown, and how burnout affects the brain, immune system, gut and overall physiological functioning. Practical, evidence-informed regulation strategies are introduced to support recovery and clinical application.
Learning Outcomes
After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand burnout as a nervous system state.
- Recognise the physiological features of dorsal vagal shutdown.
- Explain the relationship between chronic stress, HRV and autonomic regulation.
- Apply evidence-informed nervous system regulation strategies.
- Translate these principles into everyday clinical practice.
